Capitol Tours

Due to the pending weather, the Capitol Tour Guide Office will be closed Sunday, January 25, 2026. 

Your safety is important to us. We ask that you comply with the following guidelines.

Tours fill quickly. We recommend scheduling in advance. Walk-ins are welcome according to availability.

Arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour time and check in with the guide at the information desk.

Tours take approximately 30-45 minutes. 

Our tours are limited to 40 guests total per tour. Book your tour online at www.pacapitol.com.

As a reminder self- guided tours are not permitted weekends and holidays.

On this day in 1947
United States Patent: 2,415,012 issued to Betty and Richard James for the Slinky®. The Slinky® debuted at Gimbel's Department Store in Philadelphia, in 1945. Since then, over three hundred million Slinkys® have been sold worldwide.
